Our Story
Serafino Fine Italian Leather and Accessories, located in the vibrant "Midtown" section of King Street in Old Town, Alexandria, offers Italian leather goods large and small, silk scarves, Florentine stationery, and gift items. Our products are hand-chosen from small, family-owned artisan workshops in Florence, Padova, Naples, and elsewhere in Italy. We're proud to support these craftsmen, who still use traditional techniques and slower, but surer, methods of production. Many of our handbags bear the names of the people who created them: Chiarugi, Boldrini, Bruno Rossi, Gianni Chiarini.
Serafino is owned by Liz and Hassan Tehrani, who lived in Florence for many years. Their three daughters were all born there. Hassan returns often on buying trips, and, when not sharing his love of all things Italian with a customer, can often be found glued to Italian Series A soccer (Forza Inter!). Liz is a native Alexandrian who, though sad to have left lovely Firenze, is excited to be back in her hometown. Drop by and say hello. We'd love to meet you! A presto!
